For General Release

Saxtravaganza will present its 16th annual, all-saxophone ensemble concert in Hart Hall. This event is the brain-child of local saxophonist and teacher, Kathleen Maxwell, whose research in early saxophone performance inspired her to form her own large chamber ensemble. Saxtravaganza has developed into an important mentoring group for area saxophonists and, offers our community a wonderful and unique concert venue. This year's event features 20 saxophonists, ranging in age from 12 to 60, and features a wide variety of musical styles, including marches, ragtime, and popular themes. Saxtravaganza is being presented in cooperation with the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation.
